Historic Rosemont Springs: Berryville, VA
Berryville, VA
Historic Rosemont Springs in Berryville, Virginia, shows how a timber frame SIP building can combine traditional architecture with a high-performance building envelope. Designed as a commercial wedding and event venue on the historic Rosemont property, the building pairs exposed timber framing and a distinctive gambrel roof with Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) walls and roof.
Working with Quarry View Building Group, ACME fabricated the SIPs to fit around the custom timber frame and follow the changing angles of the gambrel roof. Precision pre-cutting at ACME’s facility meant the panels arrived ready to install, reducing onsite cutting and adjustments while helping crews move efficiently from the exposed timber structure to an enclosed building. The SIP building envelope also provides continuous insulation and airtightness across the walls and roof, improving energy efficiency without limiting the architectural design.
Today, Historic Rosemont Springs gives guests the warmth and character of exposed timber construction inside, with the performance of SIPs working quietly behind the finished building.

Why SIPs, Here
- ✓ A tighter building envelope means less energy used to heat and cool it, winter and summer alike.
- ✓ Panels arrive cut to spec and go up fast, so the home was closed in before the weather turned.
- ✓ Less energy used over the life of the home means less carbon produced, for this family and the next one who lives here.
